Well we’re all moved in now, had a lot to sort out though, but we’ve made it home.
The place wasn’t left in the best state, which was disappointing really. You expect to do a certain amount of cleaning when you move home, but to spend a whole day scrubbing mould, grease and dirt from every square inch is just disheartening.
But it’s done now. We had lots of help to sort the place out, so I can’t complain too much. Now just the mould in the spare room to get removed … the cooker to do something with (it is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen!) … and the windows to sort as the front two do not close properly where the wood has warped, But every home has its quirks right?
Pictures are uploaded … but if you have eaten look away … these were the worst 5
We have TV, internet and a phoneline sorted (look at us), and to cook we’re using a George Foreman and a camping stove … good job we can both live without everyday essentials like a cooker. Years of camping did that to us.
Hopefully the three problems above should be sorted in two weeks time when the landlord’s girldfriend comes back from Spain. At the moment we’re ignoring the spare room and I’ve even managed to block the cooker from my peripheral vision, it’s like it’s not even there any more.
I can’t wait to get completely sorted, the neighbourhood is lovely, I’ve met the people who live around us and they are all so friendly. I’m making it a habit to talk to everybody, the more people I know the better. Then if we do have a problem, we know people who can help.
Our house warming celebrations will probably be in a few weeks once the problems have been sorted, as the state the mould is in, I don’t want to make anyone ill. My immune system is usually pretty good, but even that has taken a heavy attack and I’ve been feeling rough. But they will happen eventually.
I’m all domesticated now. I learnt how to clean net curtains yesterday … and think I did a pretty good job! They were a brown colour instead of white, so I followed so many different instructions online, as well as advice from my Nana, and they’re definitely white now.
Anyways, that’s all for now.
Gotta get back to work, hehe.
